Sage Upgrades PFW Software

Sage North America has introduced the latest version of its PFW enterprise resource planning software, adding extra features in areas such as inventory and receivables management.

Sage PFW ERP 5.7 is aimed at small and midsized multinational businesses, including process manufacturers. The latest version of the software, formally known as Platinum for Windows, provides new interface features, including additional fields and expanded field sizes.

Version 5.7 offers better control and visibility of inventory items throughout the system. Users can now designate items as non-active and remove them from data entry look-ups.

New reports on historical receivables and aged receivables by due date include credit metric tracking features to improve operational insight. The latest version also offers the ability to write off small balances of overpayments and underpayments while processing cash receipts to better determine customer creditworthiness.

Business owners can now verify a price by checking on price overrides through a new option in the sales order report that highlights price changes and compares new prices to the original prices.

A new bank statement import feature provides a faster way to reconcile bank accounts and complete monthly reports. In addition, users can more easily switch between multiple companies and manage their workload in the latest version, reducing the possibility of errors when processing data for two or more companies.

New document-processing features allow users to print and post documents directly from accounts receivable, purchase-order and order-entry data entry screens. In addition, companies with multiple locations and workstations can deploy the latest version and subsequent service packs utilizing a new automated process across the enterprise.
