SaxBST Hires Gaffney as Tax Partner

Christopher Gaffney has joined SaxBST as a tax partner.

Gaffney brings more than 20 years of professional public accounting experience to his new position, including an extensive background working with public and privately held C-Corporation entities. In his new role, Gaffney will provide tax consulting, transactional tax planning and structuring, and tax compliance services to small- to medium-sized businesses.

“Christopher’s experience and deep expertise in the industries we serve, along with his demonstrated leadership abilities, makes him a welcome addition to our team,” said Robert Paz, co-managing partner of SaxBST. “Taxation of closely held C-Corporations and their shareholders is a very complex area of tax law. Christopher’s depth of expertise in this area will add value to the services we offer our clients.”

Gaffney’s industry experience includes structuring taxable and tax-free transactions for large and mid-size companies, analyzing the tax costs and benefits of stock versus asset transactions, researching and consulting on tax issues, reviewing tax provisions and uncertain tax position assessments, and providing tax planning and compliance for multi-state and consolidated corporations and multi-state partnerships. He has advised clients in a variety of industries including, manufacturing and distribution, business-to-business services, retail, technology, healthcare/pharmaceuticals, chemicals, real estate and financial services.

Gaffney earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
