Sensiba San Filippo has extended its footprint in California by acquiring Slater Moffat, a CPA firm based in Fresno.
As part of the deal, Slater Moffat partners John Slater and John Moffat will be joining SSF, along with approximately 18 staff members. Slater Moffat specializes in servicing agribusinesses, real estate companies and other closely-held businesses. The firm also performs forensic accounting and business valuation services, expanding SSF’s existing practice in Fresno and the rest of the Bay Area.
“This acquisition is a very exciting move for both firms,” said managing partner John Sensiba in a statement. “SSF is thrilled to expand our geographical presence into the Fresno area and add an incredibly talented and specialized group of individuals to our team.”
Headquartered in Pleasanton, Calif., Sensiba San Filippo also has offices in Oakland, San Mateo, San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Francisco and now Fresno. The firm ranked 23rd on Accounting Today’s 2016 Regional Leaders list of the Top Firms in the West, with $20.7 million in annual revenue. Earlier this month, Sensiba acquired a firm in San Francisco, Kupperberg & Associates (see Sensiba San Filippo buys Kupperberg).
Slater sees the opportunity to offer increased benefits to his clients through the services of a larger firm. “Slater Moffat’s culture and strong work ethic have been paramount to our success, and we could not be more pleased to join a firm that perfectly fits our founding principles and ideals,” he said in a statement.
