Site Offers Videoconference Tax Prep Service

Online tax preparation site Taxbrain has introduced a service that lets taxpayers ask questions or have their taxes prepared by CPAs and enrolled agents through a video chat link.

The service, known as You&Us, promises to provide taxpayers with online high-definition video access to CPAs and enrolled agents employed by Taxbrain, which is owned by Petz Enterprises. Taxpayers would be able to see and work with a qualified tax professional without ever having to step into a tax office. The Web browser-based video technology supports either one-way or two-way video, voice over IP or landline telephone audio, shared desktop data input and review, and more.

In addition to its You&Us HD video tax preparation, Taxbrain has also launched its Ask A Pro tax advice service, which includes a 30-minute Q&A session with a Taxbrain CPA or enrolled agent. Sessions are available by You&Us, HD video or phone. Ask A Pro can be used in conjunction with Taxbrain do-it-yourself tax services or as a stand-alone tax advice service.
