Nonprofit connectivity
Kintera, a provider of online software solutions for nonprofit organizations, recently announced the "Export to Accounting" release of its Kintera Sphere to integrate the software platform, which includes customer relationship management, Web content management, e-marketing and directed-giving applications, with the FundWare accounting package (which Kintera acquired late in 2004), as well as Microsoft Business Solutions' Great Plains. Users can now map all of their financial transactions from Kintera Sphere into general ledger journals for import into the two accounting applications; there is also a general export format that can integrate with most other general ledger software.

10-K Lookup on ARM
To the extensive accounting and financial reporting guidance and information already available on its Accounting Research Manager platform, CCH has now added access to actual Securities and Exchange Commission Edgar filings, through a partnership with 10-K Wizard Technology. Users can now switch seamlessly from looking at rules in ARM to examining real-life examples of filings, with a database of Edgar filings going back to 1994. The filings are indexed and posted as soon as they are filed, and are fully text-searchable.

Moving target
If your password and personal identity information sits still - on, say, your desktop computer or your company's server - it's vulnerable to hackers and identity thieves.
