Squar Milner merges in Louie & Wong LLP

Squar Milner LLP, a Top 100 Firm based in Newport Beach, California, is combining with Louie & Wong LLP, a firm based in San Francisco, effective Feb. 1, 2019, expanding its presence in the Bay Area.

Squar Milner recently merged with Boas & Boas, one of San Francisco’s oldest firms, and now has more than 550 professionals and associates. The deal with Louie & Wong will add more than 20 professionals and staff to Squar Milner. With the addition of both firms, Squar Milner will have over 150 professionals in the Bay Area.

Financial terms of the latest deal were not disclosed. Squar Milner ranked 44th on Accounting Today’s 2018 list of the Top 100 Firms and now earns $110 million in annual revenue.

Louie & Wong’s employees will be relocating to Squar Milner’s San Francisco offices. Besides San Francisco, Squar Milner also has offices in San Mateo, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Encino and the Cayman Islands.

“We will continue to work to become one of the preeminent firms based in California and the Bay Area,” said Squar Milner managing partner Steve Milner in a statement. “Last year, we were very pleased to have a large San Francisco-based firm join us, and we are now very excited about our combination with Louie & Wong LLP. They have a sophisticated client base, talented people, and a stellar reputation in San Francisco.”

Louie & Wong is a boutique firm providing accounting, tax and auditing services to individuals and businesses. “We have built an incredible firm with fantastic clients and are very proud of our people and the clients we serve,” stated Louie & Wong partner and founder Art Louie. “The Squar Milner combination will give our people expanded opportunities to grow as well as provide our clients innovative and specialized resources and services.”

In 2017, Squar Milner merged in two other California firms, DZH Phillips and Loomis & Co. CPAs.
