SurePrep Unveils Tax Workflow System

SurePrep, known for its outsourcing services, has developed a tax preparation workflow system to help firms maintain greater control over tax preparation decisions while reducing review and correction time. SurePrep Express is a Web-based system that categorizes scanned source documents to ease processing and data entry.

Standard documents that have common line or box numbers, such as W-2s and 1099s, are quickly routed to a data entry person who can match the box or line numbers on the document to those on a computer screen and input the data. With regard to more complex source documents, such as those related to itemized deductions, the tax practitioner codes relevant information so that the data entry person can then enter the information on the input screen.

Upon completion, tax practitioners can review whether the entries were correctly done and the data can then be transferred to tax packages such as RIA's GoSystem Tax, CCH's ProSystem fx and Intuit's Lacerte. With SurePrep Web-based Express, firms can use their own staff to enter data, or use SurePrep's U.S-based or offshore data entry service.

The average cost is expected to be $30 per return.
