Grant Thornton adds New Zealand firm

Grant Thornton Advisors is adding Grant Thornton New Zealand to its multinational platform, extending its reach into the Asia Pacific region.

The New Zealand firm has over $40 million in revenue and more than 300 employees. The deal is expected to close later this year and is the latest addition to Grant Thornton's platform, which launched earlier this year after private equity firm New Mountain Capital acquired a majority stake last March.

The platform currently includes Grant Thornton firms in the U.S., Ireland, France, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, the Channel Islands and the Cayman Islands. It also announced transactions with firms in Spain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Belgium and Luxembourg, which it expects to close in the coming weeks.

"Modern businesses demand seamless service and consistent quality — whether they're operating in New York, Auckland or locations in between," Grant Thornton Advisors CEO Jim Peko said in a statement. "By welcoming Grant Thornton New Zealand to our platform, we're expanding our multinational reach into a vital region with a firm that shares our ambition and values. Together, we're building a truly borderless one-of-a-kind platform that delivers exceptional outcomes across industries and geographies."
