TBC Appoints its First Non CPA as Partner

Steven Egna has been appointed partner at Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte.

Egna, who is not a certified public accountant, has directed TBC’s Business Advisory Services division for nearly a decade.

After serving in various leadership, management and analytical roles for nearly 20 years, Egna was hired by the firm in 2005 to draw upon his diverse background to provide practical and relevant valuation related guidance. Since that time, Egna and his team members have assisted businesses with valuation projects, transition planning and various other services.

Egna specializes in the valuation of closely-held businesses, including investment holding companies and professional practices. He developed the advisory services division at TBC over the last nine years.

In a recent two-year span, TBC made key hires to further complement the services it can offer to the Firm’s clientele. In 2012 and 2013, the firm brought on Pamela Wickes, director of Forensic Accounting, and Johanne Floser, a client manager who specializes in valuations of professional practices and licenses. Since then, the department has significantly increased its volume of client work, as well as propelled substantial new business relationships to TBC.

“Steve’s contributions to the Firm’s clientele have been tremendous,” said TBC’s managing partner James Drislane said in a statement. “He has diversified and strengthened TBC’s client offerings through building the business advisory services division from the ground up and we are ecstatic to have him join the partner group.”

Egna is a Certified Business Appraiser accredited by the Institute of Business Appraisers; a Certified Valuation Analyst accredited by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts; Accredited in Business Appraisal Review by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts; a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor designated by the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors. He holds a Masters of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Northeastern University.
