The Resnick Group, Druckman Hill Join Forces

The Resnick Group LLC, based here, has merged its practice with New York-based accounting and financial consulting firm Druckman Hill LLP.

Terms were not disclosed. The combined firm, which maintains offices in both locations, operates under the name The Resnick Druckman Group LLC.

The merger gives The Resnick Group a presence in Manhattan, expands the services both firms can offer their clients, and grows their respective staffs and resources.

"We wanted good staff people and more rainmakers," said Bernie Silver, Druckman Hill managing partner. "We had similar client bases and similar billings. Our people get along well."

Another factor that made the decision to join forces was that the firms' executives already knew each other before they decided to combine their practices -- The Resnick Group's Jeff Resnick once worked for Druckman Hill.

"They have 65 years of experience, a good infrastructure and base, and great staff and partners," said Resnick. "Now we have a pool of 30 people to serve our clients more efficiently."

Both firms had staffs of 15 people and focused on providing accounting, tax, audit and business advisory services to the closely held businesses, with a large number of clients in the real estate sector. The merger also gives the new firm a total of seven partners.

In addition, The Reznick Group had an entire department devoted to write up and bookkeeping work and a separate entity focused on wealth management services such as succession planning, estate planning and insurance issues.

The firm is now run by an executive board comprised of Silver, and Jeff and Barry Resnick.
