Thomas Named Austin MP for Reznick

Christopher Thomas, CPA, has been named managing principal of the Austin office of Top 100 Firm Reznick Group, effective October 1. He succeeds Edwina Carrington, CCIM, who will remain involved with Reznick in an advisory capacity.

A tax principal with the firm, Thomas has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting, and leads Reznick's cost segregation practice.

"As the office managing principal for Austin, Thomas will be responsible for aligning the resources of the Austin office with Reznick Group's other offices in the South and Central United States," said South/Central regional manager principal Tim Kemper. He added that Thomas is also charged with growing the firm's affordable housing and tax-incentivized real estate and commercial real estate practices nationally, and expanding the Austin office's capabilities in industries such as construction, nonprofits, and renewable energy.

"Chris is a proven leader within Reznick Group. His many contributions to our clients, to the growth of the Austin office, and to our affordable housing and tax-incented real estate practice have earned him this promotion to office managing principal," said Reznick's group managing principal and CEO Ken Baggett. "We look forward to Chris' leadership role in coordinating his office's efforts relative to the firm's strategic growth plan and our key industry initiatives."

Thomas holds a BS and an MS in Accounting from the University of Central Florida, and currently serves on the Advisory Council for the University of Texas McCombs School of Business' Department of Accounting.
