UHY Offers IFRS Survival Guide

UHY LLP has published a new guide aimed at updating middle-market companies on what they need to know about International Financial Reporting Standards.

The accounting firm’s "IFRS Survival Guide: Addressing the Challenges of New Standards" explores the issues many U.S. companies face as they transition from the rules-based U.S. GAAP to the more principles-based standards of IFRS.

"IFRS has become the international language of accounting," said Ana Denena, a UHY LLP partner based in Houston who is a member of an IFRS implementation group. "It's increasingly important for any CFO or financial professional to understand these fundamental changes."

Denena is a member of the International Accounting Standards Board's Small and Medium-sized Entities Implementation Group, which is charged with implementing IFRS for small and mid-sized entities. While many multi-national public companies have accelerated adoption of the principles-based standards, the focus is now on implementation for smaller businesses.
