The Singing CPA, Steven Zelin, a singer-songwriter and practicing CPA, said he intends to perform for the fifth straight year outside New York City’s main post office after 10 pm on April 15 to entertain procrastinating taxpayers.

Zelin has also launched a free new Web site,, to help taxpayers in all 50 states keep track of their tax returns. The site contains an interactive map linking taxpayers to the relevant sites to learn about their state and federal tax refund status.

At his performance at the landmark James A. Farley post office building, Zelin plans to sing parody songs about taxes, lampoon corporate execs, talk to the public about deductions, and help bleary-eyed taxpayers file last-minute extensions.

“I hold a party for stressed out procrastinators every year," he said, "but I had the idea for right now because people are certain about one thing - they want their refund money!”

Hopefully dropped off in a conveniently located guitar case, he might have added.
