VSCPA launches 'Essential Ethics' courses

The Virginia Society of CPAs launched Essential Ethics, an expansion of its ethics courses for CPAs, accounting and finance professionals.

Essential Ethics will add to the VSCPA’s existing ethics courses and feature customized courses, as well as an ethics resource center, complete with whitepapers, articles and more. Last November, the VSCPA partnered with 12 states to introduce its Ethical Considerations in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion course to more professionals across the country.

The first Essential Ethics course, "Tales of Corruption: Ethical Misdeeds," will examine real fraud cases and present ethical models that could have prevented them.

“The VSCPA has nearly two decades of experience designing ethics education courses for CPAs, previously serving as the exclusive content developer of Virginia-specific ethics with the Virginia Board of Accountancy,” said VSCPA president and CEO Stephanie Peters, in a statement. “The launch of Essential Ethics is a natural evolution that builds on our unique ethics expertise to serve all business professionals.”
