Weaver Adds IT Advisory Service

Southwest accounting firm Weaver launched a new IT advisory service to provide computer network security assessments performed by a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

[IMGCAP(1)]Trip Hillman, a senior consultant in Weaver’s IT advisory services, earned the CEH certification from the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants. The CEH certification provides comprehensive ethical hacking and network security training for people responsible for testing the security of computer networks and addressing common exploits, vulnerabilities and countermeasures using hacker techniques and tools.

With Hillman’s CEH certification, Weaver can provide security assessments like vulnerability assessments and penetration tests. Weaver also recently became a Qualified Security Assessor firm approved by the PCI Security Standards Council to provide card industry data security assessments.

“Trip is our first CEH at Weaver,” stated partner Brian Thomas who leads Weaver’s IT advisory services. “Enhancing our credentials is an important step in the firm’s efforts to continue to increase our technical service capabilities and offerings in the information security space.”

Along with security assessments, Hillman focuses on IT audits for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and third-party technology audits such as Service Organization Control examinations.

“We bring a different level of service to our clients with Trip’s information security certificate,” stated John J. Mackel, Weaver’s managing partner and CEO. “This is just another example of how we are looking to bring a complete offering of IT advisory services to our customers. We pride ourselves as a firm that meets a variety of needs for our clients.”
