Weaver Hires Foster as Partner

Trent Foster has joined Weaver as a partner in the firm’s Dallas-based assurance services practice. Foster will focus on building Weaver’s practice in higher education concentrating on serving colleges and universities.

“Trent’s extensive experience specializing in higher education will provide a platform for Weaver to rapidly expand our public sector practice throughout Texas and the United States,” the firm’s partner-in-charge, Shawn Parker, said in a statement.

Foster has more than 15 years of experience in assurance services for a vast range of clients including medium-to-large-sized companies across the nation. He specializes in higher education and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to Weaver, Foster was a managing director of audit services at Grant Thornton LLP in Los Angeles, Calif., where he was responsible for financial statement audits and helping clients with treasury and control, budgeting, investments, insurance, human resources, employee benefits, security and facilities matters. He also served on the Grant Thornton national leadership team. Previously he was a manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.

“Trent’s depth of knowledge and his experience in this area make him a good fit for Weaver,” the firm’s managing partner and CEO, Tommy Lawler, said in a statement. “We know that he will be able to open doors to more opportunities within our public sector industry practice. We welcome him to our firm.”

Foster is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Foster earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in economics with a minor in accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles.
