Whalen & Company, CPAs is expanding in Ohio after acquiring Earman and Wood CPAs, based in Hilliard.
The deal will bring two more directors, Larry Earman and Lisa Wood, to Worthinton, Ohio-based Whalen & Company, which recently ranked among the top 20 largest accounting firms in Central Ohio by Columbus CEO magazine.
“Earman and Wood developed a culture of outstanding client service at their firm, a core value at Whalen & Company, CPAs,” said Whalen partner Richard D. Crabtree in a statement.
As a director at Whalen, Earman will consult with clients for their accounting and audit needs. He has 46 years of experience in the accounting industry, working for a large international accounting firm before opening his own practice in 1978.
Wood serves as a director in the tax department at Whalen. With 22 years of experience, she specializes in tax strategy for closely-held businesses and related entities and has significant experience consulting with group residences for individuals with developmental disabilities.
“This partnership is a natural fit,” said Whalen partner Lisa G. Shuneson. “We are thrilled to work with Larry and Lisa, and we value the excellent technical expertise they bring to our team.”
