Whitley Penn Appoints New Partners

IMGCAP(1)] Randy Gregg has joined Whitley Penn LLP as partner in the firm’s assurance and advisory services practice.

“We look forward to having Randy on the firm’s leadership team and are confident his experience will provide immediate and sustainable value to our clients,” Whitley Penn’s audit director said in a statement. “Randy’s leadership will contribute to developing the firm for the future as he shares in Whitley Penn’s mission, vision and values. He will have an instant impact and positive influence on our team.”

Gregg has more than 20 years of public accounting experience advising clients on the application accounting principles, SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations and corporate governance issues. Prior to Whitley Penn, Gregg worked at BDO USA LLP as a partner.

Gregg, who is a CPA in Texas and New Mexico, is a member of the AICPA, the New Mexico and Texas Societies of CPA, the National Association of Corporate Directors and is a treasurer and Board Member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra.

The firm also tapped Curtis Maxfield as partner. [IMGCAP(2)]

Maxfield initially joined the firm in 2008 as a tax senior manager. His primarily focuses on corporate taxation, including: corporate consolidated groups, S corporations and partnerships, ASC-740, M&A, multi-state taxation, and not-for-profit organizations.

Maxfield, who is a CPA, is also a member of the AICPA, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Dallas chapter of TSCPA, and the Brigham Young University Management Society.
