Wisconsin-based accounting and consulting firm Wipfli LLP has made its fourth acquisition of the year, acquiring Blascoe & Associates of Rockford, Ill., effective December 1.
The acquisition will strengthen the firm’s presence in Illinois, according to managing partner Rick Dreher. “This also provides us an opportunity to leverage the significant resources in our Wisconsin and Minnesota locations to compliment our outstanding Illinois team as we serve our clients at a high level,” he added. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Blascoe & Associates was established in 2000 and specializes in providing accounting and tax services to small and midsized businesses in a variety of industries throughout the state of Illinois. All five of Blascoe & Associates’ employees, including partner Kim Blascoe, will be joining Wipfli’s Rockford office.
The combined firm will have over 950 associates, including 133 partners, and 21 office locations, and is a member of PKF North America and PKF International. Wipfli has been serving clients for over 80 years.
Wipfli ranked 27th on Accounting Today’s 2010 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $114.69 million in annual revenue. The other three firms acquired by Wipfli this year were Michael R. Bell & Co., American Capital and, the largest one, Lindgren Callihan Van Osdol & Co., a Midwest-based CPA firm with five offices and 135 associates. With the four acquisitions this year, Wipfli now has annual revenues totaling $140 million.
