Workiva acquires internal audit content provider

Financial and ERG reporting platform developer Workiva has acquired AuditNet, a global provider of audit content and services.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

AuditNet’s online portal gives more than 160,000 internal audit practitioners around the world access to content, resources, audit program tools and template.

“Digital communities like AuditNet, where thought leaders and practitioners can connect and collaborate, share best practices, and build and scale programs, are essential for businesses looking to accelerate digital transformation," said Workiva CEO Marty Vanderploeg, in a statement. “Workiva’s acquisition of AuditNet adds to our customer offering, ensuring that organizations of all sizes and maturity can turn to the Workiva platform to quickly scale their teams, strengthen risk assurance and greatly improve efficiency in the audit process.”
Workiva had entered into a strategic partnership with AuditNet in 2020 to give its customers access to AuditNet’s content catalog. Starting in 2022, it plans to integrate those digital assets with its own, including placing some premium content in its new Workiva Marketplace.

“This acquisition will ensure that AuditNet’s expertise is accessible and relevant to even more global audit teams,” said AuditNet founder and CEO Jim Kaplan, in a statement. “I believe in Workiva’s mission to power transparent reporting for a better world and have seen how their technology streamlines processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of audit teams. I have full confidence that AuditNet and our faithful subscribers will be in good hands with Workiva.”

This is Workiva’s second acquisition.
