XCM Releases Resource Allocation Scheduling; Mobile App Coming

Cloud‐based workflow software provider XCM Solutions now has a resource allocation scheduling module for its flagship product, with a mobile app to be released next week.

XCM made the announcement and is showcasing the RAS module at 2013 AICPA Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference in Las Vegas.

The RAS module offers an automated, real‐time way for firms to plan for and manage workloads firm‐wide. This component can be used for any workflow in the firm, but more pronounced for tax practices.

“This [module] is big for us,” said XCM chief executive Mark Albrecht. “We spent a year developing it, and by our estimations there’s nothing like it out there. Practice management systems on the market don’t have scheduling. This will be essential for any practice electronically controlling their workflow.”

The new mobile application will offer on‐the‐go XCM functionality from any smart phone or tablet, with iPhone and iPad apps available next week and Android coming this summer.

With the application, users will be able to view and act on work in progress in real time with key functionality available in the full version, including the ability to search for and move work, add and respond to questions, and sign off on completed projects.
