Accounting and advisory firm Marcum announced this week that they will once again be closing its offices the day before Thanksgiving to volunteer in local communities. The second annualMarcum Day of Servicewill be held Wednesday, November 23 and benefitFeeding Americaand its 200 member food banks.
Marcum looks to choose a different local charity each year. This year's choice of Feeding America represents national initiative of ending hunger in the communities Marcum calls home.
“Community is one of Marcum’snine core values, and the annual Marcum Day of Service has become one of the most important ways we express this principle,” stated Jeffrey Weiner, managing partner at Marcum. “Since we will be partnering with a single national charity this year, the Marcum volunteers will be working as one big team, collaborating in support of our commitment to community.”
“Feeding America will be a tremendous partner for the 2016 Marcum Day of Service,” saidShaun Blogg, chairman of the Marcum Foundation and partner-in-charge at the firm's West Palm Beach office, per a statement. “Hunger is a universal human issue that everyone can relate to on some level. We can’t think of a better cause - or a better charity - to support during the Thanksgiving season.”
