AICPA webinar series on cybersecurity begins May 12

The AICPA announced a series of webinars on cybersecurity this week, in partnership with Ridge Global, the risk management firm founded by Tom Ridge, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The three-part series, which starts on May 12th and extends through the summer, is designed to help CFOs, controllers, CPAs and management accountants gain more understanding and insight into emerging cybersecurity threats.

The series consists of the following sections:

 “Understanding Cybersecurity” – An overview of cybersecurity topics, including techniques to protect, detect and respond to data breaches and other incidents. 2-4 pm EST, May 12, 2016

 “Applying Cybersecurity” - Practical aspects of preventing and responding to cyber attacks, with a look at best practices from the enterprise side. 2-4 pm EST, June 21, 2016

“Advanced Concepts in Cybersecurity”– An overview of more in-depth topics such as forensics and malware analysis. 2-4 pm EST, July 21, 2016

Kenneth R. van Wyk, principal consultant and founder of KRvW Associates, will present the series. Van Wyk is an information security expert and author of Enterprise Security: A Confluence of Disciplines, Secure Coding: Principles and Practices, and Incident Response
