BKD Raises $150k for Tornado Victims

Super-regional CPA and business advisory firm BKD recently teamed with the firm's charitable unit, the BKD Foundation, and donated some $150,000 to the victims of the recent tornadoes in Joplin, Mo.

Through a firmwide call for contributions, partners and employees have donated more than $53,000, which will go directly to help friends and family of BKD employees in the Joplin area. The BKD Foundation gave an additional $100,000 to the United Way Foundation, which will go toward assisting in the cleanup and recovery efforts.

"The generosity of individual BKD partners and employees to help BKD employees and their extended families who lost their homes, cars and other possessions during the tornado of a few short weeks ago is truly amazing," said John Wanamaker managing partner of BKD's offices in Southern Missouri.
