Representatives from the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) New and Young Professionals Group, along with the Foundation for Life Bikes for Kids program, recently surprised 21 underprivileged local children with new bikes and helmets on October 7, the Society announced on Tuesday.

The $2,000 of biking equipment was raised by the New and Young Professionals Charity Kickball Tournament this year.

Since its inception, Foundation for Life has donated over 2,500 bikes and helmets to underprivileged kids. The organization’s goal this year is to give 500 kids the freedom to explore and stay active and healthy.

“Many of these kids have never owned a bike of their own before and were beaming with excitement and appreciation when they found they could take one of these brand-new bikes home,” stated CTCPA membership and academics manager Alicia Strong, who presented the bikes along with Katherine McNair, cabinet chair of the New and Young Professionals.

Formed in 1908, the CTCPA currently over sees approximately 6,000 members public practice, business and industry, government, and education.
