Florida firm raises $2,825 for scholarship fund

Florida CPA and consulting firm Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company recently donated all of the proceeds from an educational series it hosted to the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Women in Business.

One hundred percent of the registration fees for the event’s small business workshops, which covered business plan and budget, raising capital, and financing and insurance, were donated. The check for $2,825 will benefit the Women in Business scholarship fund at Florida Gulf Coast University.

“These funds will be used to assist the non-traditional female student – over 24 years of age, widowed, divorced or with a child,” said Judith Cassidy of the FGCU Foundation, in a statement. “Our goal is help inspire women to reach their fullest potential.”

From the firm, Gail Markham, Karen Mosteller and Christi Sarlo presented the check during the chamber’s Women in Business second annual desert auction.
