Oklahoma Students, Mix N’ Mingle Tonight!

Oklahoma accounting and finance studentslooking to network and rub elbows with veterans should consider attending acareer night being hosted by the Oklahoma Society of Certified PublicAccountants.

Co-sponsored by Becker ProfessionalEducation, this year’s events will be tonight, Oct. 23, at the Meinders School ofBusiness at Oklahoma City University and Nov. 6 in the Great Hall of the Allen Chapman Activity Center .Both run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event includes two classes toprepare students for a full-time career as well as a two-hour dinner andnetworking session with CPAs, hiring professionals and other students fromacross the state.

“Office Politics 101: The Things TheyDon’t Teach You in School” will be presented by Dr. Ken Eastman, Oklahoma State University management chair. He will demonstrate important things like, how to shakesomeone’s hand and respect for personal space.

Uh. I would hope people would alreadyknow this. But I guess we can't make assumptions.

Reps from the Becker ProfessionalEducation and the Oklahoma Accountancy Board will present “What to Expect onthe CPA Exam.”

OSCPA Student and Associate memberscan attend the event for $10 and non-members may attend for $35, which includesa free year of OSCPA Student or Associate membership.
