United Way honors Tennessee firm for community work

Tennessee accounting and business consulting firm the LBMC Family of Companies received three awards at the United Way 2012 Community Support and Volunteer Recognition Celebration Feb. 20.

The firm’s first honor, The United Way of Williamson County’s Top 25 Corporate Partner, recognizes LBMC’s leadership, community work and part in a group of businesses that contributes 82 percent to  the nonprofit’s regional office’s annual campaign. The firm was also bestowed with the Circle of Caring Award, naming companies that demonstrate a commitment to United Way programs, achievement and increased levels of campaign organization and growth, and a level of corporate and employee giving.

LBMC took home the final award, Most Improved Campaign in the Finance Companies Segment, for a 24 percent overall increase in campaign funds.

“We have always been dedicated to serving our communities, currently working with over 30 not-for-profit and community groups, but this year we are taking it to a new height,” said Cindy Harper, partner of tax services and 2012 employee United Way campaign manager, in a statement. “We are grateful for our employees’ enthusiasm and commitment to serving our communities through volunteerism and financial contribution to the United Way.”
