IRS e-file provider Aplos Software will begin offering its Aplos e-File online tax preparation and e-filing product for IRS Form 990-EZ in March of 2013.
Aplos e-File takes the tax-exempt organization through the form step-by-step, provides relevant tips and guidance, then submits the return electronically to the IRS and provides a copy of the return and any schedules for their records.
In addition, Aplos Software offers free preparation software and e-filing of Form 990-N (e-Postcard) for the fiscal year of 2012, which is required for tax-exempt organizations that normally make less than $50,000 in gross receipts.
“We took the stress out of Form 990-EZ by making it simple, straight-forward, and providing lots of guidance along the way,” said Tim Goetz, CPA and co-founder of Aplos Software. “Now nonprofits can confidently complete the 990-EZ at their own pace online.”
Aplos e-File will offer Form 990-EZ for the fiscal year of 2012 and will charge $39.99 per return and will be available here.

I wish I could identify the returns prepared through this service on Guidestar. Love to see the quality, or lack thereof.
