In the spirit of this, The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants Young CPAs Council is sponsoring its fifth annual food drive through November 21st, benefitting the Community Foodbank of New Jersey.

- AT Think Bipartisan House of Rep. majority urges House leaders to preserve cash method of accounting
In an effort to maintain the cash method over the accrual method as the standard means of accounting for tax purposes, a bipartisan majority in the House of Representatives--comprised of 233 members--issued a letter to House leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other House leaders on Tuesday, stating that the accrual method "will have a severely detrimental impact on thousands of businesses in our districts."

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has announced the 10 recipients of the 2014-2015 AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship, annually presented to both undergraduate and graduate-level accounting students pursuing their CPA license who have displayed academic excellence and leadership. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 award for the academic year.
