Accounting firms of all sizes should start looking for success by venturing abroad

The International Accounting Education Standards Board announced on Thursday that they have released new support materials on their revised International Education Standard (IES) 1, Entry Requirements to Professional Accounting Education Programs (2014).

This Friday, Sept. 29, approximately 23,000 EY professionals around the world will help non-profits, particularly those supporting entrepreneurs, education and equality in the workforce.

The Oregon Society of CPAs (OSCPA) recently held their first statewide CPA Day of Service, held September 23 & 24. Sponsored by the Society, the Day of Service saw Oregon CPAs serve local communities and raise awareness of the CPA profession.

The CPA Center of Excellence announced this week that they have launched an academic partnership between Indiana Wesleyan University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), in which students on both sides of the Atlantic will get to further their "employability skills" using the Center's resources.

EY (Ernst &Young) and EIG (Economic Innovation Group) have recently published the results of their national survey of Millennials, dubbed the "The Millennial Economy" to poll their economic views on a personal, local, and national level, as well as their economic values following the Great Recession.

As part of their third annual Global Diversity Week, PwC launched a new report on Tuesday examining the firm's diversity and inclusion initiatives. Titled The PwC Diversity Journey: Creating Impact, Achieving Results, the report covers PwC's efforts and statistics in building a more diverse workforce.

The Marcum Foundation, the charity division of Marcum LLP, announced on Wednesday that they have raised $242,841.95 in charitable donations between June 1, 2015, and May 31, 2016. This marks the first full year of donations for the Foundation.

Siena College in Albany, N.Y. announced a new accounting program for bachelor's and master's students this week, dubbed the "3+1" program. Participating students will now be able to achieve bachelor's and master's degrees in four years' time, as opposed to the more standard five-year period.

The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants' (VSCPA) announced this week that hundreds of CPAs and volunteers across Virginia will participate in the Society's CPA Day of Service this upcoming Friday, Sept. 23.

Professional services firm CliftonLarsonAllen's CLA Foundation recently completed their second grant cycle last month, awarding $300,000 to 17 organizations across the country that share its mission of "promot[ing] and support[ing] diverse individuals and organizations by connecting networks, advancing work readiness, and creating career opportunities."
