AUSTRIA

HLB Vorarlberg GmbH Steuerberatung und Wirtschaftsprüfung, Feldkirch, joined global network HLB International as part of the HLB Austrian federation of independently owned CPA and business advisory firms.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro, West Hartford, was selected as the Best Accounting or CPA Firm in the 2017 Hartford Magazine readers’ poll for the second consecutive year.

FLORIDA

Skoda Minotti, Tampa Bay, was named one of the Best Places to Work by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, which recognized 60 local companies in four categories based on employee surveys. Skoda Minotti was recognized in the big company category for the third year in a row.

ILLINOIS

RSM, Chicago, announced the 10 student receiving $10,000 scholarships from the RSM US Foundation’s national scholarship program Power Your Education: Fatima Batool from California State University, Northridge; Stephanie Charen from Arizona State University; Jesus Juarez from University of Houston, Bauer College of Business; Lydia Mammen from University of Houston; Suede Mora from Texas A&M University; Katerine Ryan from Binghamton University; Harrison Schodt from East Carolina University; Taylor Sledz from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Andrew Stearns from University of Washington, Seattle; and Meagan Vincent from University of Alabama. KENTUCKY

TrinSoft, Lexington, was named a Microsoft Dynamics ERP Gold Competency Partner, signifying a high level of industry experience providing services, software, or support for Microsoft technologies. In other company news, TrinSoft sponsored and attended the Alzheimer’s Association’s Reason to Hope Breakfast Event April 24 in Lexington, which was held to educate the public about the association.

Calibre CPA Group, Bethesda, established a Women’s Initiative Network, launched in both Washington, D.C. and Chicago, with a goal of bringing women within the firm’s community together to create opportunities and programs for personal and professional development, mentorship and networking.
