The Financial Accounting Foundation announced a number of appointments: Marsha Hunt was reapointed to the Financial Accounting Standards Board; Jacqueline Reck was appointed to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, while Kristopher Knight was reappointed to the board; Manju Ganeriwala, Edward Goldthorpe, W. Bryan Lewis and Diane Nordin were named trustees of the FAF itself; Michael Moore was reappointed chair of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council; and Paul Hensley has been named to a three-year term on the Private Company Council.

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1921 by James Councilor, following his departure from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (the predecessor to the IRS). The firm held an event at the Columbia Country Club in late October, published a book and put together a video to mark the milestone, and launched CBM 100 Charities, an initiative that encourages each team member to volunteer at a local charity.

MASSACHUSETTS

Andrew Schneider has joined Gettry Marcus CPA as a partner. ... Joseph Ferrone, Ro Sokhi and Benny Rausa have joined Friedman LLP as partners. Rausa will serve as chief revenue officer, a new position at the firm. ...     The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy announced three awards during its 114th Annual Meeting: Mark Harris, of Lafayette, Louisiana, received the William H. Van Rensselaer Public Service Award, which recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to boards of accountancy or to accountancy regulations; Barbara Ley, of Oklahoma City, received the NASBA Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes commitment and dedication to enhancing the mission of NASBA; and Randall Ross, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, received the Lorraine P. Sachs Standard of Excellence Award, which recognizes a current state board executive or administrator for outstanding service. ... The health care practice of Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP released its second annual Healthcare Executive Leadership Survey, Mindsets.

    UNITED KINGDOM

    The International Federation of Accountants, London, named Paul Druckman the 2021 recipient of its IFAC Global Leadership Award, which recognizes contributions to the advancement of global accounting. Druckman is the chair of Clear Insurance and the World Benchmarking Alliance, and previously served as the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, and played a major role in the formation of the International Integrated Reporting Council.
