When we learn of a trend that's affecting the profession, our standard practice is to put one of our editors to work researching and understanding it, and then devote a feature-length story or series of stories to explaining it.
Every once in a while, though, that's not enough. Particularly lately, the pace of change in the profession has reached such a pitch that, for every trend like the cloud or value pricing or viral videos that we cover, half a dozen other trends pop up that we (and you) need to know more about.
