Accounting Transition Advisors Expands to Canada

Accounting Transition Advisors, a consulting firm that provides succession, transition, and merger and acquisition services to accounting firms, has partnered with a trio of Canadians to expand its services across the border.

The consultancy said Friday it has partnered with Peggy Tyers, Jeff Borschowa and Richard Latimer to begin offering similar services to Canadian accounting firms. Tyers and Latimer will primarily focus on the province of Ontario from their offices in Mississauga, while Borschowa will primarily serve the Western Provinces from his headquarters in Calgary.

The Canadian operations will be run by the new Accounting Transition Advisors Canada, with support from ATA president Joel Sinkin, ATA CEO Terry Putney and the rest of the ATA professional team.

As president of 2020 Canada, Tyers has worked with hundreds of accounting firms throughout Canada on growth, strategic planning and operational improvement strategies.

“As a consultant with an existing wide client network of accounting firms, Peggy has an in-depth knowledge of the nuances particular to the Canadian accounting firm market,” Sinkin said in a statement. “She truly has a real insider’s understanding of this market and the needs of accounting firms.”

Borschowa has 18 years of experience in the profession, with 11 as a designated Chartered Accountant. As president of Borschowa Business Builders, he has developed relationships with many firms in Western Canada.

Latimer has an extensive background in marketing and technology. He joined 2020 Canada in 2007 and provides management consulting services to the accounting firms 2020 Canada serves. “Richard’s background gives him tremendous insights into the workings of professional service firms, and we are looking forward to working with him serving the needs of firms we will be serving in Canada,” said Putney.
