Bloomberg BNA Improves International Tax Library

Bloomberg BNA has enhanced its Premier International Tax Library resource for international tax research.

The latest release includes new tools to help global businesses and tax professionals compare rates and laws across the countries they deal with most frequently, while a customizable tracker helps businesses stay up-to-date on tax news from across 114 jurisdictions. A shortcut helps users access the jurisdictions they research most often.

“We’ve added a wealth of new information and resources for all of our customers,” said George Farrah, executive editor of tax and accounting at Bloomberg BNA. “It’s going to help practitioners who need to stay on top of what’s going on throughout the world. They may not be experts on, say, Austrian or French tax law, but they need to be up to date, and they need to speak knowledgeably with their in-country experts.”

The Premier International Tax Library features analysis, daily breaking news and developments, commentary on emerging trends, coverage of major tax treaties, and discussions with international tax experts.

The new release also covers more countries and jurisdictions that before. “We’ve expanded our core coverage to 114 countries – but we cover more than that in some areas,” Farrah noted. “And we also have portfolios that provide even more in-depth coverage for a lesser number of countries.”

New content and features include an International Tax Developments Tracker, which helps tax professionals stay on top of tax news and changes with customizable filters and email alerts. The VAT Navigator and VAT Chart Builder allow users to quickly compare worldwide vaule-added tax laws, practice and rates. A Withholding Rate Chart Builder enables comparison of statutory withholding tax rates for a variety of tax types across countries. The new My Countries option gives users a shortcut to quickly and easily access those jurisdictions that they research most often, saving them time and improving efficiency. The “Getting the Deal Through” feature provides topic-driven analysis covering tax controversy and taxation of inbound investments.

“International News” now provides a consolidated view into the news coverage across all of Bloomberg BNA’s international news publications so users get international tax news in one place. The Tax Treaty Analysis feature has been expanded with new analysis and summaries, written by in-country expert practitioners, for 31 major economies.
