CCH SFS Changes E-File Reporting Technology

CCH Small Firm Services has transferred its Electronic Filing Center reporting system from an Oracle database to Microsoft technology.

The change will allow CCH SFS to process tens of thousands of messages per minute and produce reports for customers in near real-time.

CCH SFS develops ATX and TaxWise tax compliance and accounting software, and processes approximately one in every five professionally prepared, electronically filed tax returns, and two out of three returns filed using the IRS’s Modernized e-File system, according to the company. The SFS product development group worked with Mircosoft and Wintellect to enhance their EFC reporting system to match the pace of submitted returns.

Over the course of a single quarter, SFS put the new reporting system in place, just in time for the 2011 tax season. As a result, message processing was 300 percent faster than last tax season and on-demand reports for SFS customers reflected near real-time data.
