USANA APPOINTS PWC

Usana Health Sciences has retained Big Four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as its auditor, replacing Grant Thornton, which resigned in July.

The Salt Lake City vitamin concern said that it had a disagreement with Grant Thornton over whether the company needed to hire independent experts to review allegations that it operated a pyramid scheme through its sales distribution network. Usana said that it eventually hired the outside consultants.

The resignation of GT forced the company to file its second quarter 10-Q without its first being reviewed by an auditor and certified by company executives.
