Crowe Horwath Moves in to Connecticut and Vermont with Merger

Top 100 Firm Crowe Horwath LLP has entered into the Connecticut market with the merger of Saslow Lufkin & Buggy LLP. The partners and professionals of the Simsbury, Conn.-based firm, which also has an office in Burlington, VT., will join Crowe Horwath on July 1, 2015. This will be the first Crowe Horwath locations in Connecticut and Vermont.

Saslow Lufkin & Buggy was established in 1999 by Richard Buggy, Glenn Saslow and Robert Lufkin. The firm provides accounting, tax and consulting services to the property and casualty insurance industry. The firm, which has 90 professionals, including eight partners, also serves a variety of New England healthcare entities and hospital systems and has a well-developed employee benefit plan practice.

With the addition of clients from Saslow Lufkin & Buggy, Crowe Horwath will nearly triple its number of insurance clients and its insurance industry revenue.

“Our goal is always to provide an exceptional client experience and, with SLB personnel joining our team, we’re able to enhance our deep specialization in the areas of insurance, healthcare and benefit plans,” said Crowe Horwath’s CEO Jim Powers.

“Joining Crowe is a great fit with our values and way of doing business,” said Buggy, managing partner of SLB. “Being part of a national firm that is part of an international network will provide our clients with access to broader resources while also providing significant benefit to our personnel through expanded career opportunities.”
