Ez-XBRL Solutions Enhances XBRL Validation Product

Ez-XBRL Solutions, a global provider of XBRL data conversion services and analytics platforms, released on Tuesday an enhanced version of its Ez-XBRL Validator product, which provides a range of validations for U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filers.

The product applies more than 230 EDGAR Filer Manual, or EFM, rules in the process and verifies that the XBRL instances fully satisfy each of them.

In most cases, Ez-XBRL Validator automates the validation of the EFM rules, but for those rules that require a user’s judgment, a set of best practices with well-documented examples is embedded in the tool.

Ez-XBRL Validator’s features provide users with details of each EFM rule that fails a validation test, along with illustrative examples to clarify the rule. Built-in filters allow users to sort validation test results as they need, including isolating errors, warnings or tips. For more advanced users, the Validator can also drill down and review the details of an XBRL instance document.

“Our new Ez-XBRL Validator does the heavy lifting in the XBRL validation process by removing the burden placed on filers through a powerful combination of streamlined, automated capabilities and sophisticated built-in features,” said Ez-XBRL Solutions president Aneet Kumar. “The process of validating XBRL instances against these requirements is often exhausting and requires detailed knowledge of the XBRL technical specification in addition to the SEC rules. Our new Validator—in addition to our recently updated Ez-XBRL integrated data conversion platform and new Ez-XBRL Viewer—again lowers the barriers for companies looking for out-of-the-box XBRL tools that are intuitive, cost effective, and easy-to-use.”
