Foundation Software to Roll Out Audit Module

Foundation Software, a national developer of construction accounting systems, will unveil a new CPA Audit/Review Module at the AICPA Construction Conference next week.

The module, an add-on to their Foundation for Windows construction accounting system, was developed with input and recommendations from construction-focused CPA firms.

"After speaking with thousands of contractors and their CPA firms over the years, a common theme was noted -- the need for a quick and accurate method to gather the necessary information easily from a client's accounting software," said chief executive and chairman Fred Ode, in a statement.

According to the company, the CPA Audit/Review Module is the only construction accounting add-on dedicated exclusively to the audit/review process. Because contractors may not know specifically what information their CPA needs, and because CPAs often experience difficulties extracting information from their clients' computerized systems, Foundation believes that many inefficiencies and errors can be avoided.

The patent-pending module features a centralized "CPA Console." When the console is launched, a "reports" screen becomes visible and allows the user to select from a list of reports. Each report follows recommendations from the PPC Guides for Accounting and Auditing, and was designed to show information the way most CPAs want to see it. The console also allows the CPA to easily make corrections to the data or re-class items, when necessary.
