GE Comptroller Becomes BNA Advisor

General Electric vice president and comptroller Phillip Ameen has joined the advisory board of BNA Tax and Accounting's Accounting Policy & Practice Series.

Ameen, who is a CPA, leads a team of about 3,500 CPAs and chartered accountants around the world for GE. He also serves on the International Financial Interpretations Committee of the International Accounting Standards Board.

Ameen was the longest-serving member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board's Emerging Issues Task Force, and a trustee of the Financial Accounting Federation. He is on the advisory board of Columbia University Business School's Center for Excellence in Accounting and Security Analysis, is a former chair of the Financial Executives Institute's Committee on Reporting, and a former member of the American Institute of CPAs' Accounting Standards Executive Committee.

Ameen will help BNA compile its Accounting Policy & Practice Series. The series provides analysis and explanations of accounting, audit and financial reporting subjects.
