Houston CPA Firms Merge

Independent accounting firm Briggs & Veselka Co. has acquired a Houston neighbor, local CPA firm Pirsch & Mills LLP.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Current Pirsch & Mills partners Robert Mills and Daniel Schomer, along with the firm’s three associates, will continue to operate from the firm’s offices in northwest Houston until the close of tax season, at which time they will physically join Briggs & Veselka’s office in Ballaire, Texas -- a suburb of Houston.

Mills co-founded the firm in 1994 with the late John Pirsch.

According to the firm’s Web site, Briggs & Veselka offers accounting, audit assurance, tax, financial planning and business consulting services. Founded in 1973, the firm employs nine CPAs on its staff and also has a branch office in the El Campo, Texas area. The firm also has plans to soon launch a new identity.
