Hutchinson and Bloodgood merges in California firm

Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP has combined with Damitz, Brooks, Nightingale, Turner and Morrisset in Santa Barbara, California, effective Jan. 1, 2022.

H&B was founded in 1922 and provides accounting, tax compliance, audits, reviews and compilations, along with advisory services including strategic planning, succession planning, estate planning, financial forecasts and projections, information technology planning, litigation support, profit enhancement planning, business valuations, and hospitality and leisure industry services. DBNTM offers various tax, assurance, private client, litigation, forensic and fiduciary services, and specializes in nonprofits. The combination will allow both firms to provide a wider array of services. They will operate under the name H&B.

The combined firm plans to continue its memberships in the Allinial Global North American network and PKF International.

“This blend of talent and expertise will present our clients with more of what they’ve always looked to us for — trusted advice and timely, quality service,” said H&B managing partner Richard Preciado in a statement Wednesday. “We also share a client-centered approach where the clients’ goals and expectations drive the delivery of our services.”

DBNTM managing partner Matthew Morgan said their clients would now have access to an expanded menu of services and resources to assist them in solving their most complex business problems.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. DBNTM is an $8 million firm with seven partners and 23 team members, while H&B is a $35 million firm with 28 partners and 112 team members.
