KPMG Names Banking and Finance Leader

Brian Stephens, CPA, has been named national leader of the banking and finance practice of KPMG LLP, succeeding Tony Anzevino, who is assuming a global client leadership role.

Stephens will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the practice, which serves commercial banks, regional and community banks, investment banks, securities firms, and diversified financial companies.

"Brian brings great credentials and a wide range of national and global industry experience to this role, having a proven track record of serving our clients as they face some of their most significant opportunities and challenges," said Scott Marcello, national leader of KPMG's financial services practice.

Previously, Stephens served as the national client leader for the banking and finance practice. He began his career with KPMG in South Africa in 1979, and was elected to the South African partnership in 1987, and the U.S. partnership in 1993.

Stephens holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University in South Africa.
