Detroit-area accounting firm Maddox Ungar Silberstein PLLC is expanding from its Bingham Farms office and opening an office in Ann Arbor.
The firm hopes to attract business clients that have been relocating to Ann Arbor from the Motor City.
"One reason is that Ann Arbor is a stronger economy than Detroit is now," said John Maddox, a principal at the firm. "It's not that far away so we can still commute out there."
Maddox Ungar recently merged with the firm of Ronald L. Silberstein CPA PLLC, of Farmington Hills, and he became the third partner. Silberstein specializes in helping companies that want to go public.
The combined firm has clients in 35 states. "We're very proactive and we're taking that on the road into Ann Arbor," said Maddox.
