McGladrey & Pullen's Jacksonville, Fla., office has been chosen to provide audit services for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.
The firm will partner with a subcontractor, Jacqueline Perth, who has extensive experience in serving the public sector.
The JTA, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation and the city of Jacksonville, develops and implements construction plans to improve traffic flow in the Jacksonville area. JTA has 56 routes with vehicles traveling 8.5 million revenue miles each year with approximately 320 bus operators and 110 maintenance employees supporting a fleet of 180 vehicles.
The Jacksonville Expressway Authority was founded in 1955 to build bridges and expressways in Duval County. A merger in 1971 of the original Expressway Authority and several private bus companies created the current JTA.
