‘National Security Awareness Week’ Begins Monday: IRS

The IRS and its Security Summit partners have declared the week of Dec. 5-9 “National Tax Security Awareness Week.”

The IRS, the states and the tax community will share varied information throughout over the five days to educate taxpayers on steps they should take to protect themselves from ID theft and tax scams, as well as protect their financial data in advance of the upcoming season.

The week will feature a series of consumer warnings and tips released daily and featured on the “Taxes. Security. Together” web page and the one-page Publication 4525, “Security Awareness for Taxpayers.”

The IRS and its partners plan to promote a range of topics related to computer security and tax scams.
