Payhawk announces real-time spend controls for corporate cards

Finance and expense management solutions provider Payhawk launched its Link & Control solution, which allows companies to link their bank-issued corporate cards to the platform and add real-time spend controls to the business credit cards they already use.

The solution connects directly to major card networks, which allows card transactions to be monitored and reconciled in real time. Users can set configurable controls on linked, bank-issued cards, enabling proactive spend control. The new solution also allows businesses to consolidate all of their card programs from banks or fintechs in one place, so they get an integrated experience and visibility across all card programs.

PayHawk emphasized that users do not need to replace their existing corporate cards—along with all the credit lines, rewards and banking relationships that come with them—to benefit from the solution. This is in contrast to other solutions built around proprietary corporate cards as well as more traditional solutions that may issue credit cards but don't offer active control enforcement.

"Spend management hasn't given finance a real choice: switch your card or watch from the sidelines," said Hristo Borisov, co-founder and CEO of Payhawk in a statement. "Link & Control redefines the category by putting built-in controls on the cards companies already use and layering AI-powered automation across policy, approvals, and reporting — no rip-and-replace, no lost credit lines, ready for 32-country scale."

Users connected to the platform will be able to access AI-guided automation from its AI Office of the CFO, which features production-ready agents (Financial Controller, Procurement, Travel and Payments) that can automate end-to-end processes like chasing receipts, reconciling expenses, booking compliant travel and resolving card issues.

The announcement comes on the heels of the U.K.-based Payhawk announcing a significant expansion into the U.S. market, including a New York office with key American leadership hires, including Dan Osburn as general manager U.S. and Catie O'Gara as vice president of sales for North America.

"Finance teams need results, not a card migration," said Osburn in a statement. "With Link & Control, teams turn on merchant blocks, limits, and approval routes on their bank-issued cards, keep credit and rewards intact, and cut month-end cleanup with ERP-ready records — modern control live in days, not quarters."
