PCAOB Investor Advisory Group to Meet in September

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced that it will hold a meeting of its Investor Advisory Group on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

Topics that the IAG will present to the board include:

  • An investor survey on matters the PCAOB should consider;
  • Investor perspectives on certain PCAOB publications; and,
  • The auditor's evaluation of going concern.

In addition, the IAG plans to discuss the May 29, 2015, letter from the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
"Investor protection is a core element of the PCAOB mission," said PCAOB Chairman James Doty. "The IAG is a forum for a broad spectrum of professionals to provide views and advice on matters affecting investors and the work of the PCAOB. These meetings are critical to shaping the agenda of the board."

Members of the IAG represent a wide range of professionals within the investment community and include individuals who have a demonstrated history of commitment to investor protection.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Army Navy Club, 901 17th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20006. Registration will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., with the meeting beginning at 9 a.m. and running all day. It also will be available via webcast on the PCAOB Web site.
